Bill takes pride in calling Jeffersonville home.  Bill serves with many organizations because he recognizes how much this community has given to him personally.  Giving back is one of his core values, especially to his hometown.  Bill gets the most satisfaction from giving back to the community through various organizations, such as Greater Clark County Schools Educational Foundation, The American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Center for Lay Ministries, and The Federal Reserve Bank-St. Louis Branch.  

Most recently, Bill was elected as District 2 Councillor for the City of Jeffersonville.  He has a heart for District 2 because he was raised here, and his children were as well.  It is the District where he lives, works, and plays.  

Bill has been married to his wife, Angie, since 1993. They have two children, Sophia (24, married to Abraham) and Leo (19, University of Louisville). Bill and his family are active members of Southeast Christian Church - Indiana campus.  On the weekends, you might find Burns and his family enjoying downtown Jeffersonville at The RiverStage or a local restaurant.
